Title

The Perpetual Persistence of Change

Subject

This is a living model that depicts the everlasting changes and cycles of nature, life, and death. Despite human’s negative impact on the environment, nature grows and persists over this detriment, and the circle of life continue s indefinitely. Plants are planted in an array appearing to overgrow the second half of my model which consists of the decomposing material that realistically fuels and becomes the growth that is taking over. To further convey this message of cycle, Oroboros is depicted. As, “an emblematic serpent of ancient Egypt and Greece represented with its tail in its mouth, continually devouring itself and being reborn from itself.” Ouroboros expresses the unity of all things, material and spiritual, which never disappear but perpetually change form in an eternal cycle of destruction and re-creation.
