Capitalism views nature as resource to be exploited. Resource extraction had led to ongoing violence against the earth and many communities across the world. We often look away from our own complicity in this harm, because it is too difficult to contemplate just how much our modern comforts rely on this abusive relationship with the Earth. As climate change creeps into every corner of our lives, we can longer afford the “cheap” energy and products that take up all the space in our lives. These works seeks to convey negative environmental impacts in an up close and personal way, offering an opportunity to look, see, and feel our impacts. With all that we are losing, it is time to start thinking (and acting) for all we can save.
